Student led society to engage with sustainability

The Student-led Society to Engage with Sustainability at the Center for Emerging Technologies for Sustainable Development (CETSD), IIT Jodhpur, is a platform dedicated to empowering students to take an active role in sustainability initiatives. Recognizing the urgency of environmental challenges, the society fosters innovation, awareness, and action through interdisciplinary collaboration.

Comprising students from PhD and MS by Research programs, the society provides opportunities to work on real-world sustainability projects, engage in policy discussions, and implement grassroots solutions in areas such as waste management, water conservation, carbon footprint reduction, and circular economy principles. By bridging technical expertise with community engagement, the society aims to create a lasting impact within IIT Jodhpur and beyond.

Through workshops, research-driven initiatives, and outreach programs, the student-led society aspires to build a culture of sustainability, encouraging proactive problem-solving and leadership in environmental stewardship.

Rural Technology Action Group (RuTAG)

Office of the Principal Scientific Adviser (PSA) to the Government of India conceptualized a mission in 2003-2004 called Rural Technology Action Group (RuTAG). The aim of RuTAG was to provide a science and technology intervention and development of appropriate technologies for rural areas.
